Waiting comes from a dark place; I was in a very one-sided sexual relationship and felt incredibly guilty for it. I was a more active partner, and felt undeserving. I wanted the ground to swallow me up & I wanted to be out of that situation, but something kept pulling me back. It was a turbulent and distressing time. This song came out of it.
